Business Victoria Learning & Advice Program

Objectives and outcomes
The Business Victoria Learning & Advice program, delivered by Monarch Institute, aims to equip Victorian small-business owners with the skills, confidence and practical strategies they need to start, run and grow their enterprises. Through a suite of free, short online courses, face to face and virtual workshops and mentoring sessions, the program helps participants develop their business knowledge in areas such as digitalisation, marketing, processes, innovation and government tendering. Ultimately, it aims to build capacity within the small-business sector so that owners can navigate challenges, make informed decisions and achieve measurable success.
In partnership with the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions, Monarch has delivered the program since 2021. Funded at over $4.5m, we have delivered thousands of virtual advisory sessions, face-to-face sessions via the Small Business Bus, webinars and workshops. Monarch manages all aspects of the program including enquiries, bookings, content creation, delivery, evaluation and reporting. We have delivered services to 110 Victorian towns, achieving an average 92% satisfaction rating over five years, demonstrating our collaboration with Business Victoria, councils and local businesses to deliver excellent, customer-focused services.
