Entry Requirements
There aren’t any formal prerequisites. But to make sure you get the most out of training with us, the following enrolment process applies:
Once we receive your enrolment, our friendly course consultants will touch base to undertake a pre-training review to ensure the training is right for you.
For students without an equal or higher level qualification, there’s a short language, literacy and numeracy quiz you complete online.
We may be able to take into account relevant knowledge and skills you’ve gained through previous formal or informal training, education and employment. To find out if you are eligible for recognition of prior learning, email your resume and academic transcripts to info@monarch.edu.au and one of our Course Consultants will be in touch.

Anyone wanting to enter human resources without committing to a full qualification first will find this a practical way in. It also suits people who already handle staff paperwork in an office role and want formal training behind it. Most students take it as the direct route into our Diploma of Human Resources Management, since completing it meets that course’s entry requirements. HR managers and consultants developed the content, so you’ll learn how these processes work in a real workplace.
You’ll complete four nationally recognised units covering the core of HR work. You’ll learn to:

Coordinate recruitment and onboarding
Administer performance development processes
Support employee and industrial relations
Yes. We deliver all four units online over eight months, so a laptop or phone is all you need. You’ll access all the lectures and complete all your assessments fully online. In one assessment, you’ll record yourself handling an HR conversation and upload the video. Case studies and calculation questions make up the rest. You can also enrol and start the program any time thanks to open enrolment.
A skill set covers fewer units than the full qualification. You’ll complete four units here compared to 12 in our Certificate IV in Human Resource Management, which adds workplace health and safety, difficult conversations, terminations, project work and learning and development. This skill set takes eight months and costs $1,500, so it’s the faster and cheaper route into the industry.
Yes. Completing it meets the entry requirements for our Diploma of Human Resources Management, which otherwise asks for two years of relevant work experience. You’ll also earn partial credit towards our Certificate IV in Human Resource Management if you’d prefer a full certificate.
