Only one additional unit

If you were considering the FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting, consider enrolling in the Dual Qualification for an additional $175. Monarch has designed the courses so that you only add one additional unit of competency, to achieve both qualifications.

Course Accreditation

In total, you need to complete 14 nationally recognised units of competency to be awarded the Dual qualification: FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting. This qualification is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Why study a dual qualification in both accounting and bookkeeping? It’s a matter of keeping your options open. Although you’ll cover similar topics and tasks, having both certificates means you can pursue more pathways for further study. Or work. Or both at the same time. Pathways

Your dual qualification is a great pathway to the Diploma of Accounting or Advanced Diploma of Accounting. The Certificate IV in Bookkeeping also provides entry to the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers as an Affiliate Member.

Some universities may give you credit towards a degree with your accounting and bookkeeping units. You will generally have to discuss this directly with the university you’re thinking of applying to.

Course Duration

Is there a maximum course completion time?

Yes; two years for the whole qualification. You must complete each module within six months.


Is there a minimum course completion time?

No. Except for some government funded students, students can complete the qualification as quickly as they choose.


What is the average course completion time frame?

Students who are highly motivated and well organised can often complete the full course in nine months. The key factors that influence course completion are a student’s experience, time availability and work rate.

This course has been developed to give you absolute flexibility. Study on your couch, on public transport, on your break at work, out in the park – wherever and whenever you like. Upfront payment

$2,125 (Total)

The most cost-effective option. Pay up front and save 10% compared to the total payment plan. Payment options include electronic funds transfer (EFT), credit card (MasterCard or Visa), cheque or cash.


Payment plan

$89.90 per week, paid over 26 weeks (total: $2,337.50)

This option is suitable for students wanting to manage their cash flow. It’s handy if you want to get started right away, but don’t have the full amount on hand. Payment must be made with MasterCard or Visa.


Government funding
