Conveyancing: Behind the scenes in Australia’s property boom

Australia’s property market has had its fair share of ups and downs, but there’s one group of professionals who’s always a part of the action: conveyancers. No matter the way market conditions and influences change, conveyancers are always needed to help make sure transactions go smoothly.

For a long time, conveyancing was in the domain of the legal profession in most jurisdictions. In the ‘80s and ‘90s, independent conveyancers emerged as an alternative. Over the last decade or two, there’s been an increasing push to professionalise and regulate this important role. In Victoria, the introduction of the Conveyancers Act 2006 (Vic) established the qualification, licensing and professional conduct standards. With an increasing demand for skilled yet scalable, flexible and accessible conveyancing services, the future for professional conveyancers will only get brighter.

“Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you would rather have talked.”

With my finance and business qualifications, I operated a finance broking business for over 20 years. During that time I obtained an Australian Credit Licence and developed the business to offer a wide range of financial services.

As an adjunct to my finance business, I also operated a Business Consultancy service advising new and existing business owners on business establishment, development and profitability improvement. I’ve previously been Director of two Investment, Property and Finance Companies as well as a Trustee of a Superannuation Fund.

What makes me jump out of bed each morning?

I’m passionate about training new entrants in the finance and business sectors.
